Obesity, fatty acid synthase, and cancer: serendipity or forgotten causal linkage?Javier A. Menendez; Ramon Colomer; Ruth Lupu · 2005
Inhibition of Tumor-associated Fatty Acid Synthase Hyperactivity Induces Synergistic Chemosensitization ofHER-2/neu-Overexpressing Human Breast Cancer Cells to Docetaxel (taxotere)Javier A. Menendez; Ruth Lupu; Ramon Colomer · 2004
Pharmacological and small interference RNA-mediated inhibition of breast cancer-associated fatty acid synthase (oncogenic antigen-519) synergistically enhances Taxol (paclitaxel)-induced cytotoxicityJavier A. Menendez; Luciano Vellon; Ramon Colomer; Ruth Lupu · 2005
Inhibition of fatty acid synthase-dependent neoplastic lipogenesis as the mechanism of γ-linolenic acid-induced toxicity to tumor cells: an extension to Nwankwo’s hypothesisJavier A. Menendez; Ramon Colomer; Ruth Lupu · 2005
ω-6 Polyunsaturated fatty acid γ-linolenic acid (18:3n-6) is a selective estrogen-response modulator in human breast cancer cells: γ-Linolenic acid antagonizes estrogen receptor-dependent transcriptional activity, transcriptionally represses estrogen receptor expression and synergistically enhances tamoxifen and ICI 182,780 (Faslodex) efficacy in human breast cancer cellsJavier A. Menendez; Ramon Colomer; Ruth Lupu · 2004
